Bob’s Red Mill Red Lentils
Delicious, nutritious lentils that aren’t a hassle to cook!
I’m a big fan of Bob’s Red Mill products. Many of them are organic, but even those that are not I feel good about eating. They are so healthful and wholesome!
Their red lentils were a pleasant surprise. The lentils were pink-orange and cute while dry in the package, but after boiling, they turned into yellow-brown mush. Tastes great even plain with just salt and pepper.
I also like that they are very easy to prepare. No need to presoak.
1. Rinse a few times in the sink.
2. Place 3 cups of water for every cup of lentils in a pot.
3. Bring to a boil.
4. Then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
Each bag weighs 27 ounces (one pound and 11 oz; 765 grams). That’s good for 17 servings. I eat probably 4 servings at one go. One serving is 150 calories and 27 grams carbohydrate (7 grams fiber). Oh, this is fiber! No cholesterol, no fat, low sodium.
Manufactured in a facility that also uses tree nuts, soy, wheat and milk. Keeps best refrigerated or frozen.
Bob’s Red Mill Red Lentils, thumbs up!
