The World Figure Skating Championships is the world’s most prestigious and important annual skating competition. (The Winter Olympics not an annual event.) The best figure skaters are vying for four World titles: ladies, men’s, pairs and ice dancing.
Fifteen top U.S. skaters are among them, including the reigning ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final champion Jeremy Abbott as well as three-time World ice dancing medalists Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto.
If you can’t catch the events live, you can watch the television broadcasts on NBC and Oxygen.

*This is the first time that this 99-year-old event has come to Los Angeles. More than 225 skaters from 52 countries see this competition as a qualifier for the 2010 winter games in Vancouver.
